a lively start from goole, plenty of chances created and against the run of play glasshoughton took the lead after 16 mins with a goal from their leading scorer martin woolford, goole came close on severel occasions having one cleared off the line and a shot from craig gorman coming back of the post.steve rollinson put goole level after 38 mins when he calmley slotted past codd in the glasshoughton goal. a tangle between glasshoughtons mark newton and gooles mark willoughby turn into a a 20 man brawl resulting in both players getting a yellow card and a minute later newton brought down adam walker and recieved a second yellow card.
2nd half goole dominated against the 10 men and rollinson got his 2nd goal after 55 mins, goole should have had more goals but it wasn't to be,ben eastwood had a goal disallowed for offside and codd saved 3 times and two were just wide.just before the end steve rollinson went for a ball against the glasshoughton keeper and took a nasty blow to the face and recieved treatment for several minutes, codd was booked for this but to be fair to him from where i was stood it looked a genuine challenge and looked to have no malice.
this was the 4th time goole had played glasshoughton in 17 days and i must say that glasshoughton have played some very good football in all the games and apart from the 2 incidents just before half time tonight they have been clean well contested games
