  Academy Success

Glasshoughton Welfares reputation for producing quality youngsters has been boosted by news that two of last years academy players have made significant progress in their careers. Doncaster Rovers have signed 18 year old dynamic midfielder Anthony Griffith on a one year contract after a number of superb displays with their Under 19's. Martyn Woolford has been snapped up by Frickley Athletic of the Unibond League and has been receiving rave reviews after a series of excellent performances in pre season friendlies.

Both youngsters featured in Glasshoughton's dramatic run in the Castleford District Challenge Cup in which the Club turned out its Youth team to win the open age trophy in April.
